Federal Trade Commission, Commerce To Host Public Workshop To Explore Online Dispute Resolution The Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Commerce will host a workshop in early June 2000 to explore the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for consumer transactions in the borderless online marketplace. News from Southern Africa Southern African leaders led by President Thabo Mbeki have offered Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe a face-saving exit from the crisis gripping his country - but only in exchange for a promise to hold elections and end the anarchy on white-owned farms. In exchange for Mugabe agreeing to their demands, the southern African leaders publicly commended the Zimbabwean leader and undertook to support an orderly program of land reform sponsored by the British government.
